This project maps the relationship between the placement of natural curling in knit structures and surface depth, leading to methods for generating undulating 3D textile surfaces directly from depth maps.
Research Question
Given that curling in knitted structures can generate multiple depth layers within a single fabric, how can the directional curling and neighboring knit interactions be leveraged to control surface depth?
